It’s the simple things

A pipe in his teeth, a flower in his hand... and not-that-great artistic skills! Who said that things have to be polished and overly-complex in order to be appreciated?!

Today's #FloralFriday celebrates simplicity and all the human spontaneity of this little bas-de-page drawing sketched by a scribe - perhaps somewhat bored by the task of transcribing Juvenal's Satires.

Fun fact: did you know that these very texts were the origin behind some very famous Latin phrases such as "panem et circenses", "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" and "mens sana in corpore sano"?
